April 24, 2022

Community Members,

City crews resumed operations this morning around 5am and will continue to focus efforts on Priority 1 and Priority 2 Snow Routes, School Areas, and commercial alleyways today. The City is also utilizing several contractors to aid in snow removal throughout the city. As of right now, the plan is to begin hauling snow out of the Downtown area Monday morning.

Neighborhoods being worked on include but are not limited to:

  • East of 10th Ave E and North & South of the I-94 East Business Loop
  • South of the River and North of 8th ST SW between State Ave and 6th Ave E
  • Commercial and Residential North of the Interstate

Following the above work the following areas will the be focused on:

  • South of Broadway and North of the River
  • North of the Interstate and South of 15th St W — West of The I-94 West Business Loop
  • North of Villard and South of 9th ST E between 4th Ave E and 10th Ave E

To aid in the save and efficient snow control effort, drivers are requested to provide a safe interval of at least 100 feet between their vehicle and snow control equipment. Drivers are also requested to not pass operating snow removal equipment.

The City of Dickinson and Stark County area remains under a No Travel Advisory. The Interstate is closed to the west of Dickinson and from Dickinson to Mandan (mile marker 152) as of 8:30am this morning. As the storm progresses, monitor local media and the City of Dickinson social media platforms for travel advisories and restrictions. Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. Notify a friend or family member of your travel plans. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5-1-1 or visiting https://travel.dot.nd.gov

If you live along an emergency snow route, please move your vehicles from the street now. This greatly assists road crews in keeping vital roadways open for emergency vehicle response.

Consider downloading the Dickinson Works app from the App store or Google Play to get the latest information regarding snow routes and removal status. Additionally, monitor our social media pages for updates.

I would like to thank the City of Dickinson Public Works, Street Dept. for responding quickly during and after the storm ( both storms) clearing the residential streets. Also very much appreciated having the Contractor open each drive way as the equipment moves along, this has always been a sore spot for many homeowners in the past, Thank You
