Several organizations in Dickinson have decided to proceed with a 4th of July Celebration! The two-week, midsummer event incorporates fireworks, a parade, 4H events, stock car races, a 5K walk, and more. Groups are working diligently to mitigate any health risks and to follow CDC guidelines.
Bring the entire family and join the 4th of July Celebration! Enjoy the summer events with your family in a friendly and safe way!

4-H Exhibits and Livestock
The Roughrider Days Fair and Expo celebration includes an array of 4-H shows and exhibits. Stop by to see the work and design that youth invest their talents in the different projects, from garden to woodwork to photography and much more.
The 4-H Horse Show youth will participate with their horses in events such as trail class, Western riding class, halter class, reining class and speed events. Livestock showing is another favorite of youth activities.

Southwest Speedway – July 2-3
Located just south of town, it’s two nights of speed and excitement watching the Wissota Street Stock Special cars as they rip the track up with drivers from across the region competing for the top prize. Bring the family out for an evening of competition, and sometimes a few crashes!

Family Fun Day Road Races – July 4th
Best Friends Mentoring is excited to host our Family Fun Day Road Races on Saturday, July 4 at a new location featuring a 1/4-Mile Youth Competition, a new 1-Mile Walk and 5K and 10K runs!
We join you in realizing COVID-19 has resulted in many impacts to our personal, family and business lives. With this in mind, Best Friends gave close consideration to the races and has consulted with our board of directors, the Roughrider Commission, past participants and timing company in designing this year’s event to promote safety, health and family-friendliness. Each one of the events will utilize Dickinson’s beautiful walking and jogging trail near the West River Community Center and Dickinson Research Extension Center.

Celebrating Freedom Parade – July 4th
Bring your friends and entire family to witness one of North Dakota’s largest parades. Enjoy the colorfully decorated floats representing our great American heritage, it’s big, bold and beautiful! After the parade, spend your day at the waterpark, play a round of golf, or visit the Badlands Dinosaur Museum – there’s so much to do!

Fireworks – July 4th
