The City of Dickinson is now able to send you emergency alerts and important notifications via text message, email, pager, or voicemail (in extreme cases). In order to ensure residents are informed, it is vital that we collect your contact information in order to effectively communicate with all citizens based on their preferences.
This system is intended to be utilized for emergency alerts, as well as routine maintenance and incidents that may have an on impact to our residents. Emergency Alerts may be related to specific hazards that require citizen action be taken, such as evacuation, shelter in place, or preparations that affect the health and safety of our community members. Routine notifications on the other hand may include impacts with regards to road maintenance, water/sewer projects, upcoming meetings, etc.… This list is not meant to be exhaustive, but rather to demonstrate the ways in which we plan to communicate with citizens in order to promote transparency, community awareness, and overall community relations.
In addition to receiving information on your cell phone, you may also receive notifications on your landline telephones depending on the incident or event severity.
